Waste Logistics: General principles and closing gaps in waste collection.
The choice of equipment, such as waste storage bins and waste collection vehicles, can have a profound impact on the cost and effectiveness of collection and transportation of waste. Coupled with the introduction of waste separation at source, souring labour and fuel costs, careful consideration should be given to the type of equipment used for waste collection, route planning, frequency of collection, number of employees, etc.
The IWMSA ’s Central Branch invites you to a short morning session where Prof. Johan Joubert  from Optimisation Group & Centre for Transport Development, Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering,  at the University of Pretoria and Mr Elias Barnard of EB Consulting (Pty) Ltd, will talk about general principles in planning and closing gaps in waste collection service delivery.
